IPL Winners List from 2008 to 2023: The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) ended with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) becoming champions and lifting the IPL 2023 trophy. In the high-octane final played in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on May 29, MS Dhoni-led CSK beat Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets on the last-ball thriller after the target was revised in a rain-curtailed match.
It was Chennai's fifth IPL title as they now join Mumbai Indians to share the record for the most IPL trophies by a team. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, team MI bagged the title in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, while CSK won the trophy in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 under Dhoni's captaincy.

The third team in the list is Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), which won the trophy in 2012 and 2014 under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir. Hyderabad have also won two titles but under different names. They first won in 2009 as Deccan Chargers under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist, while David Warner led them to a title triumph as Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016.
